Last week, I received the good news that my DFG grant to study the population genomics of pathogens that occur on Solanum chilense has been approved.

Now I am looking for a PhD student to join me on several field trips this autumn/winter or early next year to collect Phytophthora from the populations that we sequenced before. Some of these populations were visited during the trips that I blogged about, but many have been untouched so far. So, if you’re interested in population genomics and pathogen evolution and you are not afraid to travel, do get in touch.

The official job advert can be found here:

The starting date for the position is flexible and the position remains open until a suitable candidate has been found, but I expect the interviews to start the end of June.
